FAQ

  • Would you be available/interested in animating my music video/short film idea?

Thanks for inquiring! At this time I do not take on independent projects like this. I currently work full-time and unfortunately have limited availability for the kinds of external projects I can take on.

I am mainly available for freelance illustration, concept art, visual development, storyboard, and design. If you are a studio inquiring about freelance, in-house work, or work covered under the animation guild, please feel free to reach out to me to discuss your project. I am always open to opportunities with studios or covered by the guild.

  • I am a musician/voice actor/sound designer interested in working with you on your next film project.

Thanks for your interest! I may not be working on a project with those available roles open, but I welcome you to send me a reel of your work and I can keep it on file for when I do have a project with those needs. I always welcome potential contacts! Any open casting calls will be posted on my socials so feel free to check those as well.

  • What tools/software/brushes do you use?

Most of my digital work is done on a Wacom 22in Cintiq in Photoshop CC
Occasionally I work on my Surface Pro 4 and Clip Studio Paint

All animation work is animated in TV Paint 11 Pro, composited in After Effects CC & Premiere Pro CC

The brushes I like to use are usually just the Kyle Webster brushes. Belgian Comics is the brush I use the most in my work lately

I also love Shiyoon Kim’s brushes and Macalabs brushes

  • Can I repost/showcase your short film on my channel or platform?

If you are looking to repost or re-upload my animation work please contact me to look over your request on a case by case basis. Generally my policy with this is as follows -

Permitted usage: Reaction videos, commentary/breakdown analysis videos, alternate language dubs, music covers, fan art/animation
Non-permitted usage: Reposting the film as-is or with credits altered or your logo added, using the film as an unapproved music video, Reposting the film as-is with arbitrary edits (Filters, sped up, random music added, etc.)

Embedding the link of my original Youtube upload onto your website or blog is permitted. Permitted reposts should include a link to the original upload, with clearly designated credits. Reposts should never be monetized, on any platform, regardless of permitted usage. If you would like to contribute subtitles in a different language feel free to email me your .srt file and I can upload it to my original upload.

Please contact me at the above email address for formal licensing inquiries.

  • How did you like UCLA’s animation/film program? Is it a good fit for me?

For me personally, I wanted to attend the program to make 2 more films (on top of the 1 film I made in the undergraduate film program), improve in my craft, and meet more people who had the same interests and goals as me. I got what I was seeking out of the program. But everybody has different goals and needs, and what may be a fit for me may not be the same for others. You can reach out to me with any specific questions you have about the animation or film program, as I’m always happy to answer and help. My general answer has been that most art/film schools are the same. You get what you put into it. UCLA has the advantage of being a school geographically located near the film & animation industry.
